Where IS My YAMAHA GOLF CAR'S Serial Number?

Your electric G1 will have model codes J14, J22, J26, J31 and J36.
In common G2 and G9 models made between 1985 and 1995 for the most part, your serial number is going to be embossed on a metal plate riveted at the front of the engine compartment.
Your gas G2 will have model codes (first 3 characters) of J38, JA2 or J55. Gas G9 carts have model codes JG5.
Your electric G2 will have model codes J41, JE2 or J56. Electric G9 carts have model codes JG6 or JH7.

Your gas G3 will have model code (first 3 characters) of J42 and your electric G3 cart will have model code J46.

When Yamaha introduced the Drive golf car in 2007, they moved the serial number sticker to an upright support beam in the engine compartment. The Drive² was introduced in 2017 and at that time the serial number sticker was moved to the back wall of the engine compartment, placed horizontally.
In late 2022, Yahama began adding an extra copy of the serial number to the steering column of each cart in addition to the one at the rear under the seat. The font was made smaller and more difficult to read in order to include a scannable bar code copy of the serial number.
